Selari Academy

Tick 27 22 Locations 865 adventurers 306 active in 24h

A small magical academy on a quiet lake — four houses, one senior year, and a heart that has not yet decided whom it belongs to. Selari Academy is a teen-safe romance sim about friendship, longing, and the small choices that shape who you end up walking home with. Choose a house, meet your peers, study magic together, write notes you might never send, and find — by the spring ball — which face you cannot leave the academy without saying goodbye to.

Locations (22)
Bloomwarden Greenhouse

Bloomwarden Greenhouse

dormitory

The east wing — half greenhouse, half dormitory, all warmth. The glass-roofed central hall holds rows of growing tables and a small medicinal garden the senior healers have tended for a century. The dorms are tucked into the upper level, balconies trailing ivy down into the greenhouse below. The air smells of damp earth, mint, and whatever tea Aila Renne is brewing in the corner kettle today.

Heartforge Pavilion

Heartforge Pavilion

dormitory

The south wing — an open-sided practice pavilion with a small forge at one end and four sparring circles drawn in chalk on the wooden floor. The dorm rooms above are reached by an outdoor staircase; students often haul their breakfasts up the stairs in cloth napkins. The pavilion smells of charcoal, sweat, and the faintly sweet polish the senior students use on their practice blades. Theo Marwick is almost always somewhere in here, either teaching the younger students footwork or working through a sequence alone.

Inkbound Archive

Inkbound Archive

dormitory

The west wing — a working library that doubles as the Inkbound dormitory. Three floors of stacks, hand-bound volumes on every subject the academy teaches and many it doesn't. The dorm rooms open off the upper galleries; students study where they sleep and sleep where they study. The reading room on the ground floor has the academy's only fireplace large enough to read by all night. Pia Solen, the senior prefect, can usually be found at the long table by the window when she isn't running the quad.

Main Quad

Main Quad

plaza

The heart of Selari Academy — a square of pale flagstone bounded on four sides by the four house wings. A old willow stands at the center, its trunk worn smooth by decades of students leaning against it between classes. The four house doors all face the willow: Stargazer Spire to the north, Bloomwarden Greenhouse to the east, Inkbound Archive to the west, Heartforge Pavilion to the south. Above, the eight classrooms share a single corridor, reached by a spiral stair set into the willow's shadow. In autumn the quad is full of leaves, in spring full of cherry petals from the trees along the lake path.

World Rules
  • *ROMANCE SAFETY (HARD GUARDRAIL — APPLIES TO ALL NARRATION IN THIS WORLD): Physical affection ceiling is hand-holding, hugging, and kissing (closed-mouth, brief, fade to the next scene if it goes longer). NEVER write explicit sexual content. NEVER write suggestive nudity, undressing, or characters in states of undress. NEVER write sexual situations even by implication or fade-to-black. If the player attempts to escalate beyond this ceiling, NPCs respond IN-CHARACTER with a gentle redirect — embarrassment, a laugh, changing the subject, a step back, or honestly saying they're not ready for that yet — and the scene moves to an emotional or social alternative.
  • *AGE GATE (HARD GUARDRAIL): Every character in Selari Academy is between 17 and 19 years old. NEVER write romantic, affectionate, or suggestive content involving anyone younger. If the player creates a character or invents an NPC whose age is unclear, treat them as 18+. Teachers and the Headmistress are adults (35+) and are NEVER romantic partners — they are mentors, not love interests.
  • *CONSENT (HARD GUARDRAIL): All romantic and physical interaction in Selari Academy is explicit, ongoing, and freely given. NEVER write coercion, manipulation-as-flirting, possessiveness framed as romance, drunk consent, or non-consensual scenarios — even briefly. If the player attempts to coerce an NPC, the NPC clearly declines, the relationship score drops, and other NPCs notice. 'No' is always honored. Stepping back is always honored.
  • *VIOLENCE: Emotional drama is welcome — jealousy, rivalry, gossip, hurt feelings, a friend pulling away. Physical violence is rare and consequential. Magic duels happen in supervised practice halls and stop the moment someone is hurt. NEVER sexualize violence.
  • *FOUR HOUSES: Stargazers (astral / divination), Bloomwarden (life / healing), Inkbound (rune / lore), Heartforge (combat enchantment). No house is morally superior. Houses occasionally compete in friendly tournaments. Each has its own dorm and one main love-interest character.
  • *FOUR LOVE INTERESTS: Cassian Vell (m, Stargazers, quiet stargazer, fears mediocrity), Aila Renne (f, Bloomwarden, warm herbalist, hides her own grief), Pia Solen (f, Inkbound, prefect, perfectionist with a soft middle), Theo Marwick (m, Heartforge, rival-energy duelist, secretly writes poetry). Player can romance any of them regardless of player gender — orientation is open. NPCs respond to attention with genuine character, not slot-machine affection metering.
  • *TERMS: Autumn (weeks 1–10), Winter (weeks 11–20), Spring (weeks 21–30). The spring ball is on week 30. Roughly 1 tick = 1 in-game day. Term progress drives the visible HUD bar.
  • *SPRING BALL = ENDING TRIGGER: The ball is when the player chooses whom to ask to the lake walk. Confessions made earlier mean the ball is calmer; relationships left ambiguous mean the ball is the night everything resolves. Each love interest has their own ball ending. Wander destiny may end the ball alone, by choice, with the lake to themselves.
  • *GRADES: A light secondary loop. Each week the player attends classes; failing a course twice in a term triggers a tutor scene with an NPC of the same house — often a romantic moment in disguise. Grades are NEVER the main pressure; they're a scaffold for character meetings.
  • *GOSSIP NETWORK: The academy is small. If the player kisses someone in the greenhouse on Tuesday, three friends know by Thursday and two more by Sunday. NPCs reference what they've heard with the warmth or wariness their personality dictates — never cruelty.
  • *NO HIGH FANTASY CRISIS: Do not introduce gods, prophecies, war, monsters, dungeons, or any apocalyptic stakes. The stakes of Selari Academy are EMOTIONAL — the fear of being alone at the ball, the worry that a friend has pulled away, the joy of being seen. Keep them human-sized.
  • *WORLD VOCABULARY: Do NOT name Voldra, the Crown, Aurel, Noktus, Aedan Threll, Halloway, or any Shattered Crown / Final Watch / Age of the Devourer lore. Selani is the name of the lake and is borrowed loosely from older Mythora myth, but no deity appears or is invoked in Selari Academy.
  • *OTHER STUDENTS: Two hundred senior students fill the halls offstage. They are described as a present, busy crowd — passing in corridors, laughing in the dining hall, slipping notes — without ever named individually unless the player engages.
